Formed in 2018, Urban Aluminium Pty Ltd, an Australian based business, has grown to be a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of Aluminium poles to the Australian, New Zealand and Asian markets.
Our Aluminium product range is split into two distinct categories:
- Cost-effective multi-function poles and “Smart Poles” including communication poles and a range of accessories and equipment mounting options.
- Cost effective tapered and straight-sided architectural poles and accessories.
Our locations and global reach
Urban Aluminium operates from a modern head office, factory, and design and engineering facility in Richlands, Queensland, delivering precision manufacturing and compliance with Australian standards. To better serve our customers, we maintain a sales office and showroom in Macquarie Park, Sydney, providing convenient access for architects, councils, and contractors.
Our extensive network includes assembly plants in Western Australia, South Australia, New Zealand (North and South Island), Singapore, and Qatar, operated by trusted distributors. This localised model reduces freight costs and ensures faster delivery, making our architectural poles and multi-function poles accessible across key markets.
Since our inception, Urban Aluminium has supplied aluminium light poles and smart pole solutions throughout Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, and Asia, including Singapore and China. These regions represent significant growth opportunities, supported by strong partnerships and a commitment to delivering innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable lighting solutions backed by reliable lead times and personal service.
Our head office, factory and design and engineering facility is located in Richlands, QLD. This is supplemented by a sales office and showroom in Macquarie Park, Sydney. In addition, we have assembly plants operated by our distributors in Western Australia/ South Australia, New Zealand (North and South Island), Singapore and Qatar. This model enables customers in those locations to be serviced bylocally based agents eliminating the need for expensive trans Australian or international freight.
Since formation we have supplied poles Australia wide plus New Zealand, the Middle East, and Asia including Singapore and China. These are growth markets for us using locally based business partners. We believe in developing quality relationships through the delivery of innovative and cost-effective products, with reliable lead times, backed up by personal service.

MANUFACTURING
Urban Aluminium is a company within the GM Poles Group. The GM Poles Group is ISO 9001 Certified for their Quality Management Systems. UA obtains Aluminium extrusions and other raw materials from quality certified suppliers only. Our distributors that assemble our products are also ISO certified.
Our facility has a comprehensive inventory of plant and equipment enabling Australian fabrication and assembly of our products by experienced and well-trained staff.
DESIGN
Our products have been designed by our
in-house industrial design team who are backed up by a team of structural engineers specialising in the pole industry. We hold patents for our various designs.
All products, including accessory mounting brackets, are fully engineered and certified. They satisfy all relevant Australian/NZ Standards as well as European Standards, British Standards and AASHTO and can be configured for most wind regions. Our team can prepare custom designs to customers specific requirements.
Our in-house engineers can provide pole certification, footing design, and we can arrange soil testing and installation subject to project type, size and location.
